The Israelites received manna from God every morning for 40 years until they reached the land God led them to and they no longer needed it. Joshua 5:10-12 tells us that as soon as the people started eating the produce and the bread and grain they now had access to, the manna stopped. God had met their need.
I’m not really sure why I felt I needed to talk about manna this week. It’s an Old Testament story and may seem pretty far removed from the fast pace, highly technical age we live in today. But if you think about it, we’re still calling out to God to meet our needs.
We still struggle with heartache. With disappointment. With uncertainty. With trouble.
But God hasn’t left. He’s still here. And He gives us what we need.
His help may not come when we think it should or even appear in the form we want it to. But I know without a doubt that He does provide. I’ve seen it in my own life too many times to say that I don’t, or that I’m not sure.
If you’re struggling today, wondering where God is, I pray that these simple posts will remind you that He has taken care of us for thousands of years and He will continue to care for us. Be encouraged today. And look for the manna in your own life. He will give it to you.
Thank God because he’s good, because his love never quits.
