This will be quick because I’ve got a lot to do today!

I feel like I’ve lived at the baseball park for the last week. We were supposed to head to Chattanooga on Friday for a delayed 10 year anniversary weekend to celebrate. But, it was not to be. At least what we had thought we’d do…

Caleb’s team continued to win in this tournament they were in and so when their team won on Friday night and we knew we’d be playing on Saturday, we had to cancel all of our plans. Our only hope was that we might get to sneak away for a night in Nashville. 30 minutes away is better than nothing, right?

We were supposed to play at 1:15 on Saturday but it was raining. Surely, the games would be canceled. But when we got word there was a two hour delay, my heart sank and I admit, I was feeling PITIFUL! That was just more time delaying us from getting away for some much needed couple time. But, a little after noon, we got the email that games were canceled and would be rescheduled for the next day! And we were outta ther!

We had a wonderful time playing tourist in our very own city. Cliff even bought a cowboy hat which I thought was hilarious. We had the nicest room in our hotel with a great view of downtown Nashville and had a wonderful dinner at a fine-dining restaurant that I’m sure we will be back to for (REALLY) special occasions. ;)

Then we were back at the ballpark yesterday afternoon for a very hard-fought game against the #1 team in our league. We ended up losing 12 to 6 but those kids played their hearts out and Caleb was able to hit the ball, which is always the basis for him on whether it’s a good game or not. A good end to our first baseball season and a very memorable one for us all!
