Tomorrow is Mother’s Day and I probably won’t be online much. After church, we are hitting the road for a “fun” day trip to Millington. Cliff has a uniform inspection coming up and he needs a couple of things and the closest Navy shop is in Millington where he drills, four hours away from where we live.

So, we’ll make the most of it and enjoy the day together as a family. Might even stop at the commissary for the rare opportunity to buy groceries tax-free!

Yesterday, I got the joy of going to Caleb’s class for a special Mother’s Day treat. He served me sweet tea and chocolate chip cookies and a little taste of cake. It was so sweet! I loved his little book he made for me and the flower especially. It made me feel so good to see the sweet little word he added to the pot that he thought described me as a mom. I will have to remember that!! The fact that the flower is a fake is a bonus – he knows I’m good at killing live plants!

Here are some of the things he wrote that are my favorites, with my comments in parentheses:

Color: pink (true, though maybe not my only favorite color)

Food: hot dogs (ummm…if I can’t have filet mignon, sure, why not?)

Outdoor Activity: Swimming (so sweet – but only if I can find a swimsuit that takes off 20 pounds!)

TV Show: Golden Girls (he recently discovered this and we’ve watched it twice. Hope he doesn’t think this show reflects my age! LOL)

Restaurant: Asuka (100% correct! :) )

Place to Shop: The Mall. (uh… no.)

And when he had to answer “The Mother of the Year is so busy she rarely has spare time, but when she does she loves to “

He said – “she loves to play with me.”

Absolutely!

And now with that, I’m going downstairs to play with my little guy. We’ve got a Wii Fit date! Have a great Saturday! Stay dry!
