OK, today’s topic from our Wives of Faith Twelve Days of Christmas Blog Carnival was TOUGH, and I’m the one who chose them! LOL.

My most favorite part about gift-giving is wrapping the presents up. Now, I don’t always like the actual wrapping part; in fact, honestly, I’m not very good at it because I’m not very patient with it. My husband actually does a lot better at wrapping than I do, but when I have the time and money, I like to try and make presents look as beautiful as possible. I still remember the handmade bow I created on one present for my mom a couple of years ago and she commented over and over how pretty it was. :)

When it comes to shopping, the toughest people to buy for in my family are definitely the Men. My dad, my brother, my husband. (So far my son is still pretty easy, thank goodness!) None of them have distinct hobbies or obvious favorite things they like to do.  And giving a gift card just seems so boring, though I’ve done that a lot in the past, especially with my brother. He’s an officer in the Army, single, and I’ve often resorted to Blockbuster gift cards or things like that since it’s always hard to know what he really likes.

My husband is very hard to surprise. And I don’t mind buying him exactly what he wants, but it kind of takes the fun out of it sometimes. But one year I was able to surprise him. Not many people know this about him who didn’t grow up with him but Cliff did magic for a hobby for more than 10 years and even had a scholarship at the community college he went to to do magic during the breaks of their stage band shows! He was really good and I wish he’d kept doing it.

Anyway, he’s always used this name, Whodeeni, for his email and for different things and now it’s his website. So one year I ordered him custom-made floor mats for his car from Lillian Vernon with “Whodeeni” printed on them. They looked great and he thought they were very cool. And I was happy because I’d finally surprised him with something he’d never expected.

What’s a great gift you’ve given to someone? I’d love to hear about it!
