For the Wives of Faith blog carnival post today, we’re talking about Christmas trees.
I don’t think there’s ever been a time I can remember having a real Christmas tree. It’s always been artificial. My favorite tree has to be the one we now have and yes, it may be a silly answer and you may think me bit of a scrooge, but I love it because it comes with lights already on the branches!!
My dad used to have the job of untangling all the lights during Christmas tree decoration time each year and after Cliff and I were married, it usually fell to me because it drove Cliff crazy. He would do it, but I had a little more patience for the untangling part. Which is funny since he has more patience for wrapping presents than I do. Still, wrapping the lights around the tree has never been my favorite part… it’s always been hanging the ornaments. And I’m not one of those theme-tree people… I don’t mind homemade ornaments Caleb made in school or at church and I especially love the ornaments we’ve had made over the years with family photos. Ornaments should represent memories I always say…
Anyway, when I had to pull the tree out this year and do it by myself since Cliff was in California, I was grateful I didn’t have to deal with the lights and that the tree snapped together in three easy parts.
Here’s our tree for this year… still missing the star but not for long!! Cliff comes home this afternoon and no doubt, that will be one of the first things he does. And yes, you can expect a post on that very soon.

Beautiful tree!
So excited for you that your hubby is coming home today! =)
Awww…it’s a beautiful tree
My family has almost always done artificial trees too. I had to smile when you mentioned about the lights. They used to drive my dad crazy too, and last year, Colin ended up helping with them, and he didn’t have much patience for them either. I’m really hoping that we can get a tree with the lights already on when we have our own someday
