This paragraph in a news article struck me as odd, and really funny. I have a feeling there’s a news writer somewhere out there with a big Marine target on his/her back! (Be sure to read through the whole paragraph, the punch line is the last sentence.)
The wreath ceremony began at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lincoln Memorial Park with an indoor ceremony where a member of each branch of the US military was recognized. US Army Staff Sgt Joshua Johnson, US Navy Reserve Chief Master at Arms Clifford R. Bergstrom, US Air Guard Senior Airman Ryan Martin (representing the Air Force), US Coast Guard Auxiliary District Captain Ken Anderson, WW II Merchant Marine Earl Giggers, US Army Staff Sgt Kandy Flores (representing Missing in Action and Prisoners of War) and Civil Air Patrol Cadet Captain Heather Treanor carried wreaths in the ceremony. Threats of freezing rain canceled the participation of a Marine Corps representative.
