You are here: Home > Wives of Faith > A Region-wide Event for Military Wives!

If you are a military wife (active, reserve, Guard, IRR, even retired) and you live in the Middle Tennessee area or perhaps around Ft. Campbell in Clarksville, Ky., or further south near Redstone Arsenal around Huntsville, Ala., you won’t want to miss what we’ve got happening in September!!

Tuesday, September 4, at 6:30 p.m. at The People’s Church, in Franklin (Tenn.), our Wives of Faith group is hosting a “Night With Friends” – an evening where we’re bringing military wives from all over together for one night to listen to an inspiring speaker and connect with other wives who can relate to the ups and downs of military life.

Amy Stephens is a dynamic energetic young woman who grew up in the military – her dad is a military chaplain – and for several years she has literally travelled all over the world encouraging military families. She has graciously agreed to come that night to speak with us about spiritual intimacy – how to put God at the center of our life instead of fitting Him in around the edges. A description from her web site:

Question: How do I make Him first when He doesn’t rank on my “urgent” list?
~Ephesians

Most know, but do you believe that you are loved unconditionally? In this we are shown as truly precious and someone that God longs to spend time with – more than we could ever long to spend time with Him. The depth of closeness that God designed IS possible even in our busy lifestyle…even in our daily routine. What are basic steps we can take to grow that intimacy in regards to discipline and complete surrender to make Him our life focus? If God didn’t design the depth of closeness to be unattainable then what is keeping us (even as seasoned Christians) from knowing
Him on a more intimate level even throughout our busy lifestyle and daily routine? Has He asked us to do something we’re unable to do when He speaks of peace, joy, rest? If not, then there’s more…. How do we become captivated by the relentless pursuit of knowing more of Him alone?

Find out more about Amy at her web site, MeantForMore.com.

Though this is for only one night, we hope to introduce Wives of Faith to many ladies and see new chapters get started all over the region. This is also a trail run for a larger conference I’m looking at doing for next year.

Limited childcare is available but you must register by Aug. 27. The event is free but we will be taking a love offering for our speaker. Register here and let us know you’re coming! And please tell your friends! For more information, visit WivesofFaith.org.
