You are here: Home > Writing > Blogging for MilSpouse

Well, it’s official! I was asked to be a featured blogger for Military Spouse Magazine’s web site and my first post posted today. In talking and trading emails with the editor and one of their ad reps who actually lives in the same town I do, it sounds like they really want to do more to include reserve and National Guard spouses in both their online and print articles. There may even be a possibility of doing some reserve/NG columns in the late fall…

So that’s where I need your help! (Click Keep Reading to.. um, keep reading! ;) )

As reservist/NG spouses, what are issues you wish would be addressed? Is it dealing with TriCare? Dealing with the transition from military back to civilian employment? Do you know where to look for information when you need it?

Comment here and answer this statement: As a reserve/NG wife, I wish I knew more about

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Congrats, Sara! What a great platform for WoF!

When I was a reserve spouse, I would have liked to know a lot of basics about the military. It might seem “elementary” to longtime active spouses, but stuff like what all the acronyms are, the difference between reserve and national guard, what resources are available to spouses of res/NG, that sort of thing.

Hello Sara,

I was checking out the milspouse web site and I came across your name and was reading some of your articles. I came across this question from you,
As reservist/NG spouses, what are issues you wish would be addressed? Is it dealing with TriCare? Dealing with the transition from military back to civilian employment? Do you know where to look for information when you need it?
As a military spouse of a ANG soldier and prior contract employee for the Family Program Office out of ANG Joint Force HQ and past President of Operation Homefront of MI I would love to share ideas with you sometime. Feel free to send me a email sometime.
