Meet author and speaker Sara Horn!

Bio:

Sara Horn is an award-winning writer and collaborator who has worked with high-profile best-selling authors, finishing seven books in five years.

In 2003 she made two trips to the Middle East to document stories of Christians in the midst of the Iraq War. She shares many of these stories in her first book, A Greater Freedom: Stories of Faith from Operation Iraqi Freedom, written with best-selling author Oliver North.

At the beginning of her career, she was a regular contributor to Baptist Press and Christian Retailing, and freelanced for other publications including Preaching Magazine, and Home Life.

Sara is the publisher of the faith-based military news site, AGreaterFreedom.com, launched in early 2005. She also serves as a featured blogger and regular contributor for Military Spouse Magazine, writing about Reserve and Guard issues.

She is the co-founder and executive director of Wives of Faith, a military wives support group for both active and reserve spouses who do not live near their husbands’ military installation.

Family:

Sara has been married to the love of her life, Cliff, for more than ten years. Cliff served a 10-month deployment to Iraq in 2007 as a Seabee with the Navy Reserves. Cliff and Sara have one son, Caleb. The Horn family lives in the Nashville area where they enjoy four seasons, Predator hockey games and spending time together.

Media Experience:

Sara has been featured in more than 100 radio and television interviews about her book, A Greater Freedom, including Janet Parshall’s America, Daybreak USA, The Michael Dresser Show, CBN News and FamilyNet. She has also served as a regular contributing guest for several different radio shows including FamilyNet’s Mornings with Scott and Lorri on the state of the Iraq War and the Global War on Terror.

Recent Awards/Honors:

A Greater Freedom - 2005 Gold Medallion Finalist; 2005 Finalist for Christian Retailer Choice Awards; First Place, Book Category for Religious Communicators Council (RCC)

Believing in Baghdad news series for Baptist Press, 2004 Baptist Communicators First Place Award for Feature Series. Both the Truman and Baghdad series’ for Baptist Press were selected by the U.S. Library of Congress to be included in their online archives of the Iraq War.
