This was the title of a short devotion I read this morning out of My Utmost for His Highest.
Read a portion of what it says:
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? – Romans 8:35
God does not keep a man immune from trouble; He says– “I will be with
him in trouble.” It does not matter what actual troubles in the most extreme
form get hold of a man’s life, not one of them can separate him from his
relationship to God.
There seems to be a lot of trouble happening these days. The housing market, the gas prices, the food prices, war, famine, natural disasters. I think sometimes when the bad happens, we wonder where God is, why He’s doing this to us, why life can’t be better. But I don’t believe He ever intended for life for us to be perfect, not since the day Adam and Eve were forced to leave Paradise.
We live in an imperfect world. But we serve a perfect God. One who loves us so much that He doesn’t leave when things get tough; in fact, He gets even closer. I believe God uses tough times to draw us closer to Him. So when things get hard, when difficulties show up and challenges happen that leave us scratching our heads or wonder what we’re supposed to do now, I believe God is whispering “Look to Me.” “Trust Me.” “Focus on Me.”
For no matter what we’re going through, one thing is constant. One thing remains the same. The love of God never goes away. He is here with us in good times and bad, and He will be with us tomorrow. That’s faith. That’s hope. That’s love.
Another quote from MUFHH…
…some extraordinary thing happens to a man who holds on to the love
of God when the odds are against God’s character. Logic is silenced in the face
of every one of these things. Only one thing can account for it –the love of
God in Christ. “Out of the wreck I rise” every time.
I’ve been away from blogging for a while. This is probably one of the busiest times of my life and that’s saying something, since I’ve had a lot of busy moments! But I will try to write brief posts this week and stay in better touch. More soon!

I too read that same devotion that one May morning and it really stayed with me. I received some really terrible news yesterday that has effected my family greatly and that particular phrase came to me this morning when I was having my quiet time with God, “Out of the wreck I rise, every time”. It is wonderful to serve a God who holds me even closer during tough times.
