Tour of Duty Live in Little Rock

Mark your calendars for October 19-20, 2012 and make plans now to join us for our second Tour of Duty Live weekend! Wives of Faith founder Sara Horn, author of GOD Strong and the popular deployment Bible study Tour of Duty will lead us in studying God’s Word and applying it to our daily lives. Come get recharged and refreshed!

Sara Horn is a wife, mom, author, speaker and founder and president of Wives of Faith, a faith‐based military wives ministry. Her books include GOD Strong, the Bible study Tour of Duty and her most recent, My So-Called Life as a Proverbs 31 Wife. She lives in the Baton Rouge area with her husband, Cliff, a Navy reservist who returned home last year from his second deployment, and their son Caleb. She loves speaking to military wives around the country in small and large groups, encouraging them to lean on God for their strength instead of themselves. Visit her website at sarahorn.com.

Andrew Macker is the worship leader for Tour of Duty Live. He is a Montgomery, Alabama native who has loved leading worship since the age of 19, when he got his first internship at a church. For more than 10 years, he has been involved in various worship ministry. Andrew currently serves as Director of Media and Student Worship at First Baptist Church in Zachary, LA. His most important job is being a husband to his wife, Kaitlyn, and daddy to their one year old son, Ean. God has put a desire in Andrew’s heart to passionately lead others in authentic, relevant worship.

What previous Tour of Duty Live participants say:

“Oh my goodness – God’s timing is so cool! We would discuss something over a meal than our session would address it! Even as a 10-year veteran – it was applicable.” ~ Adrienne M., Army wife

“I feel like this conference was written just for ME! There were so many things covered that helped me in so many ways. Thank you! This conference has really been a blessing to me and my whole family. I needed this time to get refocused on what truly matters. Living for Him. Thank you so much!” ~ Liz B., Army wife

“Everything lesson/devotion wise was just wonderful. I really felt God working every time we met. Every lesson gave me an important view, new way of thinking, encouragement, and taught me what I felt like I needed to work on….such a wonderful experience. I needed this so much and it was a true blessing.” ~ Ashley D., Army wife

Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does this event go through the Bible study, Tour of Duty? I’ve already done the study, so I’m not sure if I need to come to the weekend.

The Tour of Duty Live events are not a summary of the Bible study. Sara prayerfully prepares what she’s going to speak on for each live weekend based on what she feels like God’s leading her to say and focus on.

2) Do I have to be going through a deployment to come to a Tour of Duty Live event?

No. Tour of Duty Live weekends are for all military wives in all branches of service, whether you’re going through deployment or not. While we hope that military wives who are going through deployment will come because we believe this weekend will be a great encouragement and time of recharging for them during what we all know to be a stressful and challenging time, we also invite all military wives to come, because the topics and messages shared have application for all of us.

3) Is there childcare available?

Yes! There is free childcare available for children 5 and under. If you need care for children older than 5, please contact Baring Cross Baptist Church at (501) 833-2347 or email them at baringcrossbaptist@sbcglobal.net with your concerns and questions.

4) I’d like to bring my PWOC or military wives group. Is there a group discount?

Please contact Baring Cross Baptist Church at (501) 833-2347 or email them at baringcrossbaptist@sbcglobal.net and they’ll be happy to assist you.

5) I’m planning on coming but I’m traveling from  another state. Are there hotels available?

There is no host hotel for this event. Here is a link to a list of hotels near the church. Don’t forget to ask for a military discount. http://www.hotelplanner.com/Hotels/41940-in-Sherwood-AR.html.
