National Guard unit deploys

Those of you who have been faithful readers of my blog know the issues I’ve had with getting my book, Weekend Warrior No More, published. It was signed to be published and was supposed to go to print this month but several months ago after seeing several red flags go up for me regarding the publisher, I made the tough decision to back out of the contract and all rights reverted back to me.

I will be self-publishing the book, hopefully early next year, but I did not want to wait to get it in the hands of the families who really need it right now. So, I am releasing it electronically for free, in three parts. The only “catch” is that you need to sign up for the Wives of Faith monthly newsletter, and you’ll need to do so now since the first e-book with chapters 1 through 4 will go out with the September newsletter (around September 5th or so).

Here is what you can look forward to reading about:

  • Finding Hope
  • Becoming a Military Family
  • Deployment and Your Employer
  • 101 Things to Do Before You Say Goodbye
  • The Importance of Good Financial Planning
  • Your Attitude is Everything
  • Caring for Your Marriage
  • Caring for Your Family
  • Caring for Yourself
  • Overcoming Your Fears
  • The Joys and Challenges of Homecoming

Here are what a couple of the wives who have already read the book have said about it:

“I would definitely recommend this as a resource & a feel good book.  This is much better for the soul than the Chicken Soup for the Military Wives Soul that I bought in my search for something that was missing during deployment.  You provide a lot of resource info, but you also provide a lot of insight into the reality of being a military spouse.” – Amber, National Guard wife

“I would definitely recommend the book to Guard and Reserve spouses as a resource.  The information is one of positive encouragement, current, relevant and important information for a successful deployment experience.” – Deborah, Army Reservist wife

Once you receive the e-book versions, you’re invited to send in your thoughts and comments to me and out of all the comments I receive I will select 10 lucky winners to receive a free copy of the book when it’s published.

So be sure you’re signed up for the newsletter and I hope you enjoy the first four chapters!
