A LITTLE ABOUT ME -
I started writing professionally in 2000, first as a news and media relations director for a university and then as a corporate staff writer and media relations specialist for a large publishing house in Nashville. In 2010, my first book was published, and I've published six more since then. I also did a stint or two as a ghost writer which I found was not my calling. For nine years, I enjoyed leading a military wife ministry, and I've been grateful to have had the opportunity to speak to women - military wives and civilian - around the United States and in a couple of other parts of the world too on topics such as spiritual growth, marriage, motherhood and leadership. I found out I was expecting our second child two months before I turned 40. This came on the heels of a series of professional and personal disappointments and challenges that seemed to come one right after the other, and I was very grateful that it takes 9 months to grow a baby, because I needed all 9 months to wrap my head around the changes that were coming. I stepped away from writing and speaking after our daughter was born, and my day job is helping manage a family-related business. But I miss ministry. And I miss writing. So now that our little girl is a preschooler (and our son is a junior in college - chew on those two ideas simultaneously for a moment), I'm opening the laptop back up. I have no idea what words will form, what projects may happen, what ideas may ignite. But whatever ends up rising to the top of this little corner of the web, I appreciate you stopping by. May we all embrace where God has us for today. Sara |
